dc house grooves

had some time to kill on saturday before heading over to the loft in dc to see sarah myers and lee foss, so picked up some new tunes and recorded a mix. nearly two hours of deep grooves…mostly new music, with one or two older tracks thrown in for good measure. enjoy!

so i’ve finally moved into the 21st century and recorded my first mix using serato. i resisted the technology for a long time, but now i’m using it i’m kicking myself for not making the move earlier! i’m still a vinyl junkie at heart, but i’ve fallen in love with serato. this mix was an unplanned mix… i was checking out some new music for my snd+vsn gig at the science club in dc, and remembered to record it. mixing is a little rusty in parts as i was hearing some of the tracks fully for the first time, but there’s some quality tracks there. starting off with some nice, slow, deep selections, then building to some quality dancefloor action. enjoy!

found this mix deep in the dc house grooves archive, and figured it needed another airing. a 70 minute mix of varied deepness, with classic tracks from labels like fxhe, strictly rhythm, rotters golf club, kms, global communication, strictly 4 groovers etc…. and if you haven’t heard the track “ocean” by the mole people before, prepare for an assault on your senses! a timeless classic. best listened to with eyes closed and the lights down low….you’ll thank me for it

inspired after several hours on the dancefloor yesterday at the secretsundaze mansion party in DC, i spent some time on the decks this afternoon and knocked out a new mix. 2 hours of slow burning hypnotic house grooves….. put on your headphones or crank up your speakers, turn the lights down low, and lose yourself in it. i haven’t had this much fun on the decks in a very long time! thanks to navbox, juan zapata, giles and james from secretsundaze, and all the stranger than paradise crew for a fantastic party that inspired me to get back on the turntables.
