DC House Grooves Top Picks of the Best Underground House and Electronic Music Events in Washington DC February 28 to March 3

Katrina Mir and I made it back from our crazy weekender in London in one piece. Great to meet so many Internet friends in person, and shout out to the Secret Ingredient and For Those That Knoe crews for throwing an amazing event. Grow Tottenham is a perfect underground warehouse space, so if you’re visiting London, be sure to check out events at Grow. A little bit off the beaten path, but all the better for it. Derek Carr‘s debut live set was one for the books, here’s hoping he makes it stateside and makes it to DC in the very near future! Fantastic sets from Jade Seatle, Ben Boe and Istanbul’s Rubsilent made for an amazing night on the dance floor, and with so many familiar faces from the We’re Going Deep Facebook group in attendance, it was a real family affair. Totally worth the transatlantic trip! Anyway, back in DC now, and ready for another weekend on the dance floor here in the nation’s capital. Before I get into this week’s festivities, here’s a new Meet the Locals podcast from relative newcomer to the Washington DC electronic music community, Dastan:

So what’s on deck this weekend? As always, I’ve included below the flyers for all the best underground events in DC over the weeekend, Thursday through Sunday, and Facebook users can click the section heading for each day to see a list of the even pages over on Facebook. Too much good stuff to get into this weekend, but make sure you support two charity events on Sunday afternoon. At Eighteenth Street Lounge, the Dear Mama fundraiser is helping support The House That U Built, Cadence and Overeasy Tea Dance‘s Annie / Vanniety Kills who is unable to work and needs our help. Featuring an incredible line up of local talent across three dance floors, this promises to help someone who contributes greatly to our local electronic music community. Advance tickets and raffle tickets are available over on Resident Advisor.

The other charity event this Sunday afternoon is Soul at Flash, featuring a line up of DJs raising funds for Jeannie Pilling’s Medical Fund. Free entry. Full info over on Resident Advisor, and you can contribute to the GoFundMe here.

Both events worthy causes, so please try and support if you can. Always better partying when you know it is supporting a great cause.

That’s all for this week’s post. Have a great time out there, and make sure you check back next week for info on all the best events in Washington DC, Thursday through Sunday.
