Uh oh, missed my Wednesday night deadline this week. Can’t remember the last time I was scrambling to pull the post together on a Thursday morning, but here we are. Without further ado, here are the links to this week’s top picks:
Just click the link for the day you’re interested in to see the list over on Facebook. Don’t forget to RSVP Going to any events you plan on attending. My highlights for the weekend including Playlist with Jubilee & Ramirez on Thursday, always the best deep vibes each and every Thursday night, then on Friday, DC House Grooves takes over the Green Room at Flash, with DC House Grooves show residents Andy Grant, Katrina Mir & Ramirez joined behind the decks by our good friend DJ Kochi for nothing but deep, family vibes on the rooftop. No set times, no bullshit, just a group of experienced tune slingers hanging out and vibing off each other’s energy. Not to be missed! On the club level, Basic Channel legend Mortitz Von Oswald is joined by Jamaica Suk and Wade Hammes for what’s sure to be a major music journey for the heads, while downstairs, Taiga & Throe keep things grooving in the bar. Advanced tickets are recommended. Only $8 is you move fast.
You can get a taste of what to expect on the rooftop Friday night on last week’s DC House Grooves Show on Underground Quality Radio, featuring yours truly and Katrina Mir:
Another great option for Friday night is the L.E.N.G. Resident Night over at Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club, featuring Djoser, Panch, Kouhai and special guest Lars Warn. Always a whole lot of energy in the room when the L.E.N.G. crew cut loose. One for the heads, and with no cover, the price is right.
Also on Friday, Ten Tigers Parlour plays host to the mighty Team Zapata, going head to head with the equally mighty Buster. Quality beats all night from some of the best locals in the game.
Saturday afternoon & evening has some great options for quality music, with Joe L & Trev-ski at El Techo from 3pm to 8pm, Symmetrical on Vinyl Purist Radio from 4pm, and Panch & Jett Chandon drop the wax at Guilty Pressure at Bump’n’Grind from 6pm. Saturday night, head to Flash to get Perlonized with the master Sammy D and local hero Navbox on the club level, our fellow Underground Quality Radio show runner Cafuné brings the heat on the rooftop alongside Philip Goyette and down in the bar Jandro is joined by Disgonuts. Another three dance floor Saturday night extravaganza at Flash! Advanced tickets recommended. Still only $8 if you move fast.
Over at Jimmy Valentine’s, Saturday night brings another edition of DJ Nav‘s Uptown House Experience, featuring special guests Sam “The Man” Burns & Joe L joining DJ Nav behind the decks. Real house vibes open to close from three cats who know what’s what. No cover!
Sunday afternoon sees the welcome return of Vanniety Kills‘ party series The House That U Built at El Techo, with Vanniety Kills joined by Team Zapata and TNX‘s Tommy Cornelis for an afternoon of family vibes, delicious food and satisfying cocktails.
Sunday afternoon also sees the welcome return of Sunday Love at Flash featuring YokoO, Meegs and Marko Peli. Here’s to another great season!
As always, my standing highlight for Sunday is Eighteenth Street Lounge, with another solid Sunday line up featuring Sam Burns, Keenan Orr and Good Buddies featuring Feroun & Philco out on the patio.
And so another post comes to a close. Have an amazing time out there on the dance floor, and make sure you come back next week for news about all the best underground parties and electronic music events in and around Washington DC. See you on the dance floor!
