Welcome back! Here goes with another edition of your favorite weekly blog post influencing your inevitable poor choices that you’ll regret come Monday. The big news this week is Flash‘s announcement of their annual New Year’s Eve extravaganza. As always, there are no details at this early stage, but rest assured there’ll be big, big international names, the cream of the local crop, and the celebrations will continue for far longer than is really necessary. Start off the new year as you mean to go on, that’s what I always say! The smart dancers out there have already snapped up the $20 tickets of trust, and the $30 first release tickets are already gone, but act fast and you may be still be able to grab $40 tickets before the price goes up. I’ll bring you details right here on these very pages as soon as they are available.

Speaking of Flash, here’s a short video of me dropping some Secretsundaze heat in the main room back in October at Resident Nights with Charles Martin, Andy Grant, Alex Eljaiek & Oliver Caine. Other highlights for the weekend include U Street Music Hall presents Objektivity boss Dennis Ferrer with the always amazing Heather Femia at Ten Tigers Parlour on Friday, and Steve Kirn‘s birthday bash Transplants the same night with DJ Nav, Associate, Doktor D and of course Steve himself at Studio Gaga. Both quality choices for Friday, depending on what you’re looking for.

Saturday night, Flash‘s got a stellar line up top to bottom, with Chris Carrer in the main room ably supported by Jubilee, veteran locals Joe L and Aaron Sparks in the Green Room, and in the bar you can help raise money for Puerto Rico recovery efforts at Voltage, featuring DJ Samuel Roukin, The Barber Streisand & Raptorstein. If Roukin seems like a familar face, you may just have seen him in his day job capacity playing the role of John Simcoe in AMC‘s Turn.

As always, Sunday at Eighteenth Street Lounge is the best way to close out your weekend, with the legendary Sam Burns working his magic in the gold room, with The Metaphysical in the Main Room, and the dynamic duo of Juan Zapata and Joe L joining Philco for Good Buddies out on the patio. Let’s just hope you haven’t got anything too pressing lined up for Monday morning!
