If you’re staying in Washington DC for the holiday weekend, and if you’re looking for quality underground deep house music, there’s no shortage of amazing events to keep you grooving. The Washington DC underground scene is on fire lately, with so many quality events with both big name DJs and super-talented local DJs that it can be hard to keep up. To help you decide, we have pulled together a list of the best local events over the holiday weekend. See you on the dance floor!
Thursday July 3
Wet Hot American Summer at Lost Society with the ROAM DJs Chris Nitti, DJ Lisa Frank and Sami Y is the hot ticket for Thursday, and best of all there’s no cover! Lost on Thursdays is always a good bet for a great dance floor vibe, and with this line up you can’t go wrong.

Next up for Thursday night is Beats on Repeat with Philip Goyette and local producer Ian Place at the Velvet Lounge on U Street. Heading further down U Street to Flash for the last recommendation for Thursday night, where you’ll find Distrikt presents: DJ Kramer, Paul Geddes, Ben Seagren. We’re huge fans of Flash here at DC House Grooves, and Thursday nights are usually the best for enjoying their amazing sound system without the weekend crowds… although with no work on Friday, it will likely be a road block on the dance floor!

Friday July 4
First up for Independence Day is the Soundwaves Boat Party on the Boomerang pirate ship, with local DJs Raffi, Juan Zapata and Jubilee. The Soundwaves boat parties are always crazy affairs.. nothing like grooving out to underground sounds while you drift past Washington DCs monuments as the sun sets. Tickets for this event are completely sold out, but if you check the event page you might find a spare up for grabs.

Sunday kicks off with The House That U Built on the Dirty Bar rooftop near Dupont Circle, with a local lineup featuring Keenan Orr, the TNX DJs, C. Hill and Vanniety Kills.
