Welcome back to another edition of DC House Grooves Top Picks. Kicking off this week’s edition with a heads up on a couple of events to put in your calendar in the coming weeks. May 10 kicks off the inaugural event of Sprüdel, a new warehouse event curated by Arthur Kimskii and crew. The first event features Vincent Neumann, Juana B2B Arthur Kimskii, and local favorites Rush Plus for what’s sure to be a night of solid tunes and good vibes. The event is described as “…a gathering for all the fun loving freaks, artists, dancers, office workers with secret kinks and everyone in between that needs a fun night on the dance floor. Come play with us.” If that doesn’t entice you through the door, I don’t know what will! Super early bird tickets are already gone to those in the know, but you can still pick up $15 early birds if you move fast.

Another one to put in your calendar is Boiler Room Washington DC: ROAM Warehouse Party on May 18, although if you haven’t grabbed your ticket already, you’ll need to be on the case. Despite the line up not yet being announced, the good ravers of DC couldn’t resist the calling to be seen shuffling behind a well known DJ in the Internet, so the initial release of tickets sold out quickly. 100 more tickets will be released on May 1 at 12pm sharp, and once those are gone, that’s it, no Boiler Room DC for you. Your best bet to make sure you secure a ticket is to sign up for the ROAM Email List to get a reminder before those tickets go on sale. It’s the place to be seen on May 18, don’t get left out in the cold!

So what about this weekend? Plenty of great events, as usual. I’ll be kicking off my celebrations of 48 rotations around the sun this Friday at Reflections with Katrina Mir and Andy Grant at Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club. We’ll be packing several record bags full of heat, playing B2B all vinyl open to close, and it would be just wonderful if you could join us on the dance floor for what’s sure to be a super fun evening filling with nothing but good vibes all the way. No cover, cheap dranks, Martin Audio sound system, and best of all, WE’RE CELEBRATING MY BIRTHDAY! Everything you could ask for in a quality night out on the dance floor. I hope to see you there, although if you can’t make it Friday, mark next Thursday May 2 on your calendar, as I’ll be continuing my birthday celebrations joining Jubilee & Ramirez behind the decks at Playlist at Eighteenth Street Lounge.

On Saturday, we’ll be recovering from a night behind the decks at Jimmys with a night behind the decks on home turf at DC House Grooves HQ, broadcasting episode #047 of the DC House Grooves Show on Underground Quality Radio with me, Katrina Mir and Ramirez. The needle drops at 10pm ET, and by now you know what to expect; quality underground vibes, the right soundtrack to your Saturday night. Audio only stream at Underground Quality, video stream on the Underground Quality Live YouTube channel.

Other highlights this week include Playlist with Jubilee and Ramirez at Eighteenth Street Lounge plus Article004: The Long Count Cycle at U Street Music Hall and Dax J at Flash on Thursday, then on Saturday you can catch Vatican Shadow in a church with the ROAM crew, chillax on the dance floor at the Cloudwatch 25 year anniversary at Dark Room, Baltimore or get into a spot of fire dancing at the first Sunset & Chill of the season featuring Fort Knox 5 at Olde City Farm & Garden.

Sunday afternoon, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, head directly to Flash for Sunday Love with new jersey house legend Tony Humphries with local support from Heather Femia, Mazi and DJ Soul. An incredible Sunday Love line up in the Green Room, and with the Love Bazaar Marketplace on the club level, you’ve got all the ingredients for an amazing Sunday evening. Pro tip: don’t pay door prices, grab your tix in advance for $12.

Sunday night, head to Eighteenth Street Lounge for Sam Burns’ weekly Underground Soul Solution and the next edition of Sundays Rooftop with Detroit OG Allan Ester and Benoit. The perfect way to wrap up your weekend on the dance floor.

See below for all my Top Picks for the weekend, Thursday through Sunday. Facebook users can click the title for each section to view the list of event pages over on Facebook. For the rest of you, Google is your friend. See you on the dance floor, and of course, right here, same time, same place, next week.
