Wow! That was my reaction last Thursday night seeing the crowd on the patio at Eighteenth Street Lounge for Playlist. What an amazing vibe! Huge thanks to everyone who came out to groove with us on the patio, to the team at ESL for helping everything run smoothly, and, of course, to my brothers Jubilee & Ramirez for inviting me to throw down with them. It was awesome running into a few DC House Grooves readers in the crowd, too! Great to meet you all, and hope to see you again soon. I don’t think I’m exaggerating saying Playlist is currently the best weekly event in DC featuring local talent. Congratulations to the Slope Traxx boys for what they’ve built over the last couple of years. Here’s to many more amazing nights on the patio!  They will, of course, be at it again Thursday night, and for this week’s edition,  Flash‘s  Navbox joins Jubilee & Ramirez for another excursion through all things deep. Not to be missed!

Saturday night we were at it again on another edition of the DC House Grooves Show on Underground Quality Radio. Fun times in the Rave Basement with two of the best DJs I know, Ramirez and Katrina Mir. OK OK OK what’s up with this weekend? You’re spoiled for choice on Thursday, with Playlist at Eighteenth Street Lounge, while across town at Flash the Preview crew are going late night with an all start local line up including  Christauff, Dreadbang,  Jon_MFD, Meegs, Rich Thomas, Rosenberg & Thursday People, and it’s all for a very worthy cause as all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Looks like another great night on the rooftop at Flash!

Also on Thursday, U Street Music Hall kicks off their new series of events at Ten Tigers Parlour with the mighty Ben UFO headlining with local support from the 1432R crew. Advanced tickets are just $15, which is a bargain for such high caliber talent. U Street Music Hall has already announced Denis Ferrer at Ten Tigers Parlour on December 1, and I can’t wait to see who else they’ve got lined up for this exciting event series.

Friday night is all about Church of Secrets with Detroit legend Alton Miller supported by Andy Grant (that’s me if you didn’t realize), Benoit & HOT COFFEE at a super secret location. Hours of worship are Midnight until the early hours of Saturday, and I can guarantee we’ll be raising our hands to the heavens and singing Hallelujah many times before the night is out. Early bird tickets are just $10, so grab yours now before the price goes up! Gonna be a really special night at the Church of Secrets.

Saturday night brings another edition of ROAM vs TNX, with a stellar line up featuring  Dekmantel‘s Palms Trax & Honey Sound System with local support from  ROAM  and TNX residents Sami, Lisa Frank,  Tommy Cornelis, Bil Todd & Baronhawk, making the magic happen through Team Zapata‘s most excellent  Martin Audio sound system in another amazing warehouse location.

If you’re up for something a bit more intimate without a cover charge on Saturday, then head over to Jimmy Valentine’s Lonely Hearts Club for Alive & Well with Sarah Myers,  Philip Goyette, C Felinski & Philco. A fantastic local lineup at everyone’s favorite dive bar with a Martin Audio sound system. If this crew doesn’t get you grooving, I don’t know what will.

For Sunday afternoon grooves, look no further than the Sunday Love closing party at  Flash with Bedouin, Edo, Marko Peli, Meegs, Narko & Navbox. Sad to see Sunday Love wrap its first season, especially as I didn’t get a chance to play there this year, but already looking forward to next season. Make sure you head to Flash on Sunday afternoon to catch the season closer. Advanced tickets are all sold out, but there should be some available on the door as capacity allows.

Also happening early evening on Sunday is the inaugural Headroom Sunday Party at Ten Tigers Parlour, featuring a line up of talented artists who have showcased their sounds at Chadwicks‘s monthly Headroom event at Flash. The event kicks off at 5pm with a line up  including Analog Tara, Darius Twin, District & Circle, DJ Winterman, JP Jed, Nebo, Sid Waters & Symmetrical. There’s no cover, but donations at the door are strongly encouraged. Starving artists gotta eat! Please make the effort to come out and support DC’s thriving community of electronic music artists.  These cats are gonna go far!

Sunday night wraps up with perhaps the highlight of the weekend, with Deep Secrets & The Stars in association with Lil Soso Productions presents Let Me Show You Love, a fundraiser for the Hurricane Maria relief effort featuring New York disco legend Danny Krivit, with local support from Adrian Loving and TNX‘s Tommy Cornelis. A long list of local crews are partnering to bring you this event: DC House Grooves, Good Buddies, Prescription, Nomads Only, Chosen, Mont.age, Loop, Sticky Fingers Collective, Deep Sugar & Kowli. With such an amazing list of party crews involved, you know this one’s going to be really special! Early bird tickets are still available for $10, so move fast before the price goes up. I couldn’t think of a better way to close out the weekend while raising funds for a great cause. Proceeds will be donated to Unicef‘s hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, with 90% of every dollar raised going directly to children.
